This series of pieces is a meeting place between visual arts and the choreographic work that is dear to Philippe Saire. Here, cardboard boxes become scenography tools: light and solid at once, they are manipulated as construction modules to bring forth ephemeral architectures. In d'Aplomb, the audience finds itself at the heart of the action. Sometimes a participant, it works on constructions with the performers, sometimes a spectator, it witnesses the choreography. The space is transformed and rebuilt in common, in an immersive experience where the boundaries between stage and audience fade away. To the rhythm of successive constructions, d'Aplomb evokes the fragile balance of our societies and our capacity to hold strong. At the heart of this instability emerges a joyful and vital solidarity: a way of making a group, of making society, of (re)building together.
